Growing up, our grandma Fa'afete would make "siamu", which is the Samoan word for jam. She made it for breakfast or dessert with pancakes and Samoan "koko" (cocoa).
Times were tough and my grandma learned to make do with what little she had, so she made siamu for us. It only had two simple ingredients: coconut milk and brown sugar. We used it on almost everything - pancakes, bread, crackers and once in a while when we could, ice cream.
Many years later and this simple recipe still brings our friends and family together. Whether it is for breakfast or dinner, we spend it around the table, reminiscing and laughing about the good ol' days.
Today, we continue that tradition by making it for customers all around the globe. From California to Utah, Hawaii to New Zealand.
